Marilyn Monroe (1st June 1926 - 4th August 1962)
4th August 1962Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jeane Mortenson, was an American actress, model and singer. Famous for playing "blonde bombshell" characters, she became one of the most popular sex symbols in the 1950s. Her marriages were both highly publicized and both ended in divorce. On August 4 1962 she overdosed at her LA home; her death was ruled a probable suicide.
